One of the dealers I went to told me I shouldn't even consider buying an STX if im a "truck guy" the FX4 is only 8k more or so , so im pretty much stupid for buying an STX .
Did I mention im 17 and paid for my truck with 19k down.
...Apparently kids like me working full time while going to high school need to pick up the game were getting lazier every day

When I went to one dealer looking for my truck, he said that it was impossible to order an 11 F150 screw 4x4 XLT with Eco and a 6 1/2 ft bed, and he had the Ford book in front of him. Needless to say, he didn't earn my business.

There is nothing on the earth I hate more then doing car deals. I most of the time know more about the car I am looking at then they do.

Must be cause I am a gear head

Went to a dealership today looking at a 2012 FX4 loaded Ecoboost, MSRP was $49.5k, and he said best deal he could get me was $44k and change....and I have the X plan as well.

Needless to say, the search continues....

Sandy Springs Ford Atlanta, New FX4 42,500. Got it listed on eBay, with 25 miles. A few more from Gene Evans Ford, Atlanta also for less than that, 41,892.

My favorite line was "we can't give you a better price because if we do it for less than the guys down the road, we would be undercutting them. We don't want to be doing that, we like to use the honor system ". Well I promptly looked elsewhere, within 48 hours I found a dealer sellin for $3100 less, ahahaha

I generally don't mind buying a new vehicle. I found a great salesman who's also the sales manager. I work at Ford and have A plan so I'm guaranteed the best deal. He usually throws me a few extras. This time I got free tints, car starter, hitch cover, ford cap, sunglasses and a full tank of gas !

It helps that I've bought 4 vehicles from him in the last 10 years. When my mom needed a used car, I brought her there and he gave her a good deal. A week later I got an unexpected check in the mail for 100$.

Not all salesmen are bad......but till I found this guy I didn't trust many LOL

New Ford owner here and very happy with my dealership - The owner started the dealership with his father back in the 1980's, and I sold him a tractor last year. I contacted the "big" dealership in my area first (they have Ford, Chevy and Ram) did my research and got their "best" price. I then contacted "my" guy with what I wanted. He had a very similar truck already in his order bank and changed a few things to make it what I wanted and said he would call me when it arrived. No paperwork, signatures, etc. The truck arrived he gave me a good trade and considerably less price on the truck than elsewhere. We signed the papers and were off - no issues whatsoever. If there is anyone else in the Omaha area that needs a Ford, PM me if you want more info.

I agree with RDFTS. Not sure what you were expecting (OP). It doesn't sound was all that bad, chances are the next dealer won't be any better.
Funny.... You know if you are buying a new car and get "screwed" you are stupid. There is enough info to know exactly what is available, and us dealers know that as well. You don't need to lie to run a business. Most people know you need to make money to stay open, and if they don't want you to, then you have a decision on selling them a vehicle. EVERYONE knows about hold back, and invoice etc. Just because a dealer doesn't want to give it all away, doesn't mean he is a liar, it just is a business decision. I'm pretty sure that chair you are sitting on had over 500% markup and you paid most of it, and the info to know is NOT available to the public, so we blindly pay. *** hats like you is why people are so negative about car dealers, and smile when they pay 500%+ for jewlery or furniture, because they got "50%" off.
