Yeah its ashamed there aren't more honest people in this world. Not to mention my truck was 47k, why wouldn't you just fix the damn thing to keep me happy. So I buy my next truck from them. I don't get it, the world is full of jerk offs if you ask me.

I know it's a hard lesson but I learned the hard way like you. It's a small inconvenience but I not only walk around the car/truck with service writer but when they rotate tires I use my cell phone to take pictures of each wheel before they take it in. My phone shows the time I took photo. I also do this when I rent a car...I photograph all sides of car before I take possession. So sad a consumer has to do this for a product we pay tens of thousands for.

This is the exact reason whenever I take one of our vehicles in for work, I do a walk around with the Service Manger.

Get in the habit of doing one.

Qualified, bwhaahaaahaaa!!! Let me explain how this works. The only jobs that the "qualified" technicians (otherwise known as Certified Technicians) work on are the ones that the dealer is making THOUSANDS of dollars on. No sir, your 30 - 40 dollar (or free) oil change/tire rotation technician is in some cases not even a technician (some dealers use their parking attendants to perform their oil changes). This so called "qualified" technician you speak of is, in most cases, the least trained person that is not certified and has minimal to no experience what so ever!

If I had to choose between some 18 year old kid at a fast lube facility and going to the dealer, I would choose the 18 year old kid every time. At least they have some sort of training before they step foot out on the floor.

OP.....I had something similar happen to my 2012 Roush and I ended up talking to the dealer's GM. I just reasoned with him by letting him know how much money I've spent in the last three years at his dealer and that I'm not the type of person to blame a business if I didn't know for sure they did it. I also told him that if they didn't replace it that I would take my business somewhere else. It took him a few days to get back to me but they ended up fixing their screw up.

This is one of the most inaccurate posts I've read on this site.

I'm a senior master technician, I perform oil changes daily. I have at every dealer I've worked at.

There is no dealer I've heard of or worked at that use parking lot attendants to work on cars. If they did, they would be techs, not parking lot attendants.

Everybody thinks the only people that change oil are young kids who are clueless. We do everything from bulbs to oil changes to rebuilding transmissions. It's like that at vast majority of dealers. Just because you've heard stories otherwise doesn't make it the norm.
