you need to find the failure point. If there was no oil on the dipstick when you reached home doesn't mean they didn't fill it. The filter may not have been installed properly and slowly leaked out over your drive = no oil pressure warning until the end. find the failure

Depends on what you value truck at compared to what a lawyer would cost. you might win might not. lawyer will not take this type of case on contingency. I would go to the top of the food chain at the dealer and try to work a deal. If no deal can be reached contact Better business Association and possibly local media as well as posting on social media with name and details.

When I bought my Lincoln, it included Lincoln providing regularly-scheduled maintenance for the first 12K miles (which, oddly enough, adds up to 2.5 oil changes, per the manual). I let the dealership do the first two oil changes (the only two times I've let anyone else change my oil), and they didn't show me the dipstick either time.

Dealer has manned up and is giving me a new 5.0L engine. I hope the tech who was working on my truck learns a lesson and isn't fired. I really wanted to see how far this truck could go with the original motor so I'm kind of bummed out!

Nice. I bet the grease monkey that changed your oil is out of a job. Probably the lowest paid guy there..
