You have a great dealer. I would we grateful they are doing what they are, but I would let them know they owe me one for the inconvenience of not having a truck (or having it without lights) for some time. There will be a time when you need a rush appointment or some other repair done, and at that time it will be invaluable to call in that favor from them. Sometimes situations like this make for good long lasting partnerships that both sides appreciate.

kudos to you....this is my position and how i approach life, they owned up and are making it right, don't try and take advantage of the situation. deal fair with others and let karma sort out the rest

one other thing to think about, is that you are doing everyone else a solid. by not trying to take advantage of the situation, you are going to encourage this dealer to continue be straight up and fair with every other person that walks through the door.

I get it, it pi$$E$ you off, would me too, but I think they handled it very well! Usually the story is we didn't do it or they try to blame you......that's when you unleash the wrath of an angry owner on their butts.

Hope they stand by their word and fix it up for you! Good luck!

I see you agree but these comments are more for the others who think you should get lottery jackpot winnings out of them.
I guess I was born into a different generation of thinkers. If a person makes the mistake right, that's all I ask if no one is injured. Some don't think that they could ever be the person who makes the mistake.

13 headlights is a very nice gesture by the dealership, they are not cheap. Some people have entitlement issues though, I wouldn't push for any more then the new headlights.

I agree that you are not owed anything more then a new set of headlights. But since you had a headlight out they also should have hooked you up with a rental. Headlights are considered a safety item, so they could be liable if you wreck somethign along those lines.

Thats the problem with the world, people get greedy and want something they really don't deserve, sounds like the dealer did the right thing. Enjoy your new lights.

Agree 100%. A local Ford dealer here in Calgary, Woodridge Ford, had my 31' Ford motorhome in for an oil change and backed it into a concrete pillar. They had to replace the rear bumper, side marker light, and and a piece of trim. After the repair I asked about the slight crease in the hardwall exterior in the same area. They totally denied it having anthing to do with the damage they caused, and said I must have been in another accident. Total BS, the motorhome was pristine. It would have been a $500 repair, but their reaction caused me to:

1) never bring my vehicles there for servicing again
2) tell all my friends about the horrible service
3) post on this forum

They actually got an estimate for the repair, but once they got it, decided they'd rather rip me off than fix it. I'm too much of a Ford guy to abandon the brand due to a crummy dealer, but I'll never go there again.

And before anyone asks, I escalated this to the service manager, who told me that they didn't consider themselves responsible for the damage, even though she admitted she hadn't seen the photos of the damage, talked to the estimator, or talked to me prior to deciding. I am still contemplating legal action, but that means $$ up front, and I don't know if it's worth it.

So long story short, they're making it right by you. Be happy.

get a new F150, a new Mustang Boss, new floor mats, some gas, window tint on the next 100 cars to drive into the lot, free Subway sandwiches for life, free oil changes for you, your kids and their kids for life, no federal taxes.

Gimme a break, they will make your lights right, the new ones are more than enough. lol
