Default Dealer can't figure out whats wrong with my Truck

So I brought my truck into the dealer because of a grinding noise coming from the front end when braking and especially while making right turns. You can hear the grinding noise and also feel it in the brake pedal.

Dealer first thought it was the rotors, so they turned them and the noise didn't go away.

Dealer checked vacuum lines and solenoid and there are no leaks.

Today the dealer replaced the IWE on the front right and called me to pick it up. About 5 minutes from home the sound came back.

Now there talking about rebuilding the transfer case.

Does anyone here have any ideas what it could be, or any similar experiences. Thanks in advance.

Mine has been in the shop 3 times for same thing.
They replaced some bearings in the front end but it has started back.
My truck has a humming rear end at different speeds and two dealers said they might make it worse if they try to fix it. I love the truck but am about ready to get rid of it.

Our truck was doing the same thing...and very soft hum/grinding noise when slowing down and turning right.
They first replaced the right front CV joint, but this did not alleviate the problem.
I took the truck in again today and they found that there was a loose fitting on one of the engine intake tubes, and this was causing a vibration/noise in the chassis and engine.
If you need me to, I can try to get more information as to exactly where this clamp was loose...but for now, my truck is NOT making this noise any more for the first time in 10K miles.

I had the same noise. Replaced both IWE. One was cracked and the other was broken in 2.

Integrated Wheel End. I was curious also. Googled it and found what seems to be a pretty in depth explanation on f150online.

Check it out, it's good reading material.

Hi gang,

I recommend making an appointment at your dealership so they can perform an inspection. Feel free to reach out to me via PM so I can look into ways to help as well. In your message, be sure to include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership.

From reading many of these "strange noise" threads where the noise is described much like the one here, it may serve to ask your service department to check the following;

1. CV joints
2. IWE -- Integrated wheel end(s)
3. Four wheel drive actuators
4. All intake fittings

Armed with this knowledge, you are at least going to appear to be a better informed consumer.
For those of you nearing the end of either your 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty or the 5/60 power train warranty -- get the dealer to commit that if they cannot find the noise while under warranty (despite attempts to do so), that this problem WILL be covered completely after the warranty expires.

Yeah is there anyway you could find out which clamp they tightened, that would be great. I am willing to try anything at this point.
