In my opinion, the dealer should cover this under warranty, but Ford knows they put out a lot of bad rotors and it seems like they're trying to do damage control. What would frusrate me the most is the towing thing. There are some service reps that monitor the forum. I'm not sure how to contact them. I'm also not sure how much help they'd be. They seem to be pretty selective of the problems they get involved with. Chad is one of them. I hope Ford takes care of you.

Brakes are a wear item like tires. Very rarely will you find a dealer that will warranty something such as this unless they do it out of goodwill just in the hopes of earning a customer that will come back for future service visits.

These 5000 lb trucks seem to eat through brakes. The oem pads and rotors seem to be the worst. I just bought a set of powerstop rotors and pads for $240. I'm hoping these will be better as I'm only at 27k mIles and mine are warped pretty bad.

This is exactly why I will never buy extended warranties or service packages. Just look at how frustrating they make things.

Who resurfaces rotors anyways. That almost never works out in the long run.

My dealer wanted to change my brakes because they became wore out. Funny how their little check list is "all green and good" then all of a sudden tires and brakes are "in the red and bad" then they try to sell me on a brake job so I'm safe.

My dealer is a rip off.
They won't get my business for even an oil change.

Why would I put stock brakes back on if they are garbage? Aftermarket upgrade FTW

I was just on an auto site looking at PowerStop brakes. Which ones did you buy? If I go that route, I'm thinking about the OEK Ceramics. It's just under $500 for a set of four with pads. They are smooth vented rotors.

I'd put on a good set of after market rotors and pads and save yourself further headaches.

They seemed happy to turn them twice for free -- and now they say "sorry, they're too thin, but we can replace them for you - not under warranty". One time they turned the rotors just to try to rule that out for the sound my brakes are making. Pissed me off that they did that as a "guess". Grrrr.

This one single experience has me considering submitting for a refund of the Premium Care package. "Premium Care except for the 9000 things excluded by 2 point font". I can take that money, buy new rotors and pads, and put the rest in the bank!

Do not get the ceramics. They are not meant for trucks. They are made for cars and made to produce less brake dust which in turn means less performance. I got the z36 severe duty/towing brake pad. Drilled and slotted rotors with pads for $240 shupped from rock auto. These are just the fronts only. Itd be pretty rare that your rears are warped too as they do such a little proportion of the braking. Your fronts do 75% of the work, give or take.

I will never ever buy an extended warranty or service plan as battling and arguing with dealerships is not my idea of fun.

I would try if you can. Even if it's just a prorated refund based on the time that has already lapsed.
