I removed them at the dealer.

But my dad bought a Chrysler convertible and the dealer screwed their plate to the front fascia. Using big lag bolts. Not a OE frame. Just put two huge holes in the front bumper. I took it back and demanded a new fascia. They first did a patch job that stood out from a mile. Then they had to order a new fascia. My friend worked in the body shop and heard all great words about me. That was the last car any of my family bought there.

I removed my STICKER once I got home, don't trust the porters to remove them without FN up my paint. I did remove my front license plate holder at the dealer and gave it to the sales men. He said why you removed that? I told him, you can either take it or ima throw it away, I don't advertise for free!

I remember a few years back there was a member on a forum that bought a vehicle and the dealer had painted there name on it. His friend was a lawyer, had him write up a paper for him to bring to the dealer. It said you have two options! Pay him to advertise or you need to have the panel or whatever it was repainted. Dealer promptly had the panel repainted!!

I have had the dealer remove these stickers from every vehicle my wife and I have bought.

I won't sign the last of the paperwork or turn over the keys to the trade in until I have inspected the vehicle and had any issues (dealer decal, dirt, etc.) rectified.

Dealer I got my '14 from had www.xtillxx.com ( their website) on top of rear window on most trucks. Some kind of plastic transfer. Ugly, really bad on sliding window. Told them better not be on mine.

I am old enough to remember when dealers actually drilled holes in the trunk/tailgate and the names were pinned in. I have also had the discussion with dealers about advertising and sponsorship deals for displaying their names. Had one that actually worked out a deal with me so I left their decal on until I paid off the car. They got more word of mouth referrals from me because they were a great dealership and had a sense of humor.

We had a local Ford dealer that did this until 2005 or so when they were sold to a nation wide chain of dealers. I heard stories of many upset customers who demanded to have the emblems removed, holes filled and more money taken off due to the non OEM paint job that had to be done on both front fenders.

My '91 f-250 had a emblem from this dealer and i filled the holes when i repainted it in 2007.

No stickers are allowed, not even factory labeling, on the body of any of my trucks. My last one I bought, the dealer used to have a sticker on the tailgate, I took it off first thing when I got it home.It also had a god awful fake flame graphic on the side. My guy told me about it before I saw it, and was removed, it looked pretty tacky I thought. The tag frame is alright, for some reason, I like to see where a person is from when they're driving a nice vehicle.
