Default Dead rear defrost and heated mirrors

Have you experienced a common reason why they stopped working on my 2013..w/16,000 miles?
Checked the fuse under the hood quickly last night. That's still good. Relay? Am I correct that I see another fuse in the kick panel?
Still have my warranty...but obviously, me throwing in a new relay is much more convenient.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Subscribing. I have the same issue on my '12 w/ 48k. The rear defroster intermittently started going out over the last year and now hasn't worked since the end of winter. When I say intermittently, I would press the button and most times nothing would happen, but several miles later it may come on by itself.

Being that I am out of warranty I am hoping for an easy fix besides arguing that it falls under my extended warranty.

My old 11 did the same thing. It shorted out where the sliding window closes and makes the contact for the defroster. Ford put a new rear window in under warranty.

Be careful. There's been a number of these shorting out and actually scorching the contacts. I've even seen several that caused the back window to blow out. I'd get it into the dealer ASAP.

Ya, I have been super careful about at least trying to get the interior warm, before turning on the rear defrost, just out fear of my rear window shattering.
Stupid, I even have to think about it, and all the stories I've read.

My truck does the same thing when it gets warmer out. I am thinking they have it set so when it gets below certain temp it works. HTH

Ya know, that's actually crossed my mind. The mirror still dims at night, everything else still works fine; adjustment, folding, the rear slider opens and closes fine.
I checked the connections behind the mirrors, at the rear window and all fuses. Everything checks out normal.

I had the same thing happen too while the truck was under warranty. Ford replaced the entire rear window.
