Thumbs down DDM Tuning

Hey everyone just thought I'd let you all know what's recently happened to me with this company.

So I ordered a set of Hids from them, the slim kit with the h13 H/L. After talking to them on the phone before purchasing them about me living in Canada and having to disconnect the daytime running lights, They ensured me that I would not have to and that they haven't heard of anyone having to do this before.

About three weeks later they arrive, slightly used and not in new condition, that day I put them in the truck and instantly they aren't working right. The passenger side was working correctly but the drivers side was flickering and it seemed as though they weren't getting full power to them. I checked all the connections and flicked the light switch on and off and they started to work intermittently. I then had to drive 4 hours for work later that day, when I arrived they would not turn off, no matter what I tried or how long I waited. The only way I could get them off was by disconnecting them from the battery.

When i got home I took them out and called ddm, he said it was the main connector or something and sent me a replacement part. After about 5 weeks of waiting i finally got the part, again shows signs of use. I put it back in and went for a drive. About 30 minutes into the drive they turned off completely and I had no lights whatsoever. Tried turning off the truck and back on, but nothing would fix it.

I called them and they said, it's probably because you have daytime running lights and you'll have to disconnect them if you want them to work. Obviously I can't do that being in Canada because it's against the law. So I had to send them back for a refund.

2 weeks later I get an email from them saying this "Thank you for sending us items for a warranty claim. We have tested everything that you sent us. From our testing, the everything proved to be functional and not in saleable condition, screws rusted on bulbs, harness corroded and used, ballast dirtyand scratched."

These hid's were I'm my truck for approximately 6 hours before being removed the first time and 1 hour before being removed for the last time. They were completely dry and this had all happened when the weather was sunny and +20 out. I called them and ended up having a yelling match with them on the phone asking how it was possible for them to have rust on them while being in my truck for only a short period of time. No answers for any questions just kept repeating the same thing over and over.

So all in all I have spent over 30$ on shipping and international fees and the 80$ the Hids costed I am receiving 0$ back.

Just a little information for anyone who is thinking about buying hid's from them especially if you are anywhere in Canada.

I had them in my last truck and the passenger side kept flickering on and off. I didn't have daytime running lights, I highly doubt that was the problem. They're just a ****ty company that provides ****ty products and customer service. I will never buy from them again.

I have 4 sets of DDM Raptor series. Never once had any problems on any kit for over a year. I'm ordering 2 more sets for my new F150. I have 2 on my Mazda 3. 1 on my Rzr and 1 set on my R6. 35 watt 6000k kits. Always took about 3 weeks to come in but for the money ive been completely satisfied. It sucks that has happened to you but did you take pics of the parts before you put them on? My boxes always looks like crap so I'd video myself opening and inspecting just in case.

I've had a bad experience with DDM too, but with their LED bulbs, I wanted to replace my LEDs in my recon headlights, these bulbs have a main LED on the top and a couple on the sides, I installed them and the main top LED would flicker on and off, and sometimes not even turn on, so I remove my headlights and take a look at them, if I push the top of the bulb down they would turn on, and 80% of them were like this, they were loose, and not assembled properly, I called them and they said I would have to send them back and they will have to test them for warranty, and they said they never heard of this issue, well the shipping will cost me just as much to send it back to them, so the 10 LED bulbs are just sitting in my tool box, and I just bought some putco single LED's and I have no issues with them at all!

Good to hear, I am also in Canada and work with a guy that swears by ddm, after reading this I'm glad I didn't buy my Hids from them. And will do my best to keep others from buying their ****.

I have bought from DDM tuning about 5 or six times now and never have had a problem. Good quality kits and silver stars are funny because they are the exact same intensity as your stock lights and people get choked into paying $80 for a pair. I had a relay hooked up to my kit and haven't had a problem with them yet

silverstars made a pretty big difference over my stock lights. may not as bright as hid's, but big improvement, no ballasts or anything like that to worry about. well worth the money imo
