Default Daytime Running Lights

How do you know if you have the DRL,s. Page 93 or owners manual says if equipped. Nothing mentioned on window sticker under standard or options.

DRLs will be on all Canadian trucks and some US Fleet trucks.

If your lights come on at 50% power while in Drive (no tail lights, either), that's DRL. My local dealer added this option via software update and charged me one hour labor.

My dealer just enabled daytime running lights for me for free while I was having an oil change. An hour of labor charge is a rip off!

The dealer enabled them on my 2013 w/ HID's for free after we reached a price I'd pay for the truck. I purposely didn't mention it until after.

On the 13's with HID the DRL are the front amber turn signals.

Turning on the DRLs were part of our purchase agreement. Dealer attempted to turn them on via software update and failed. Said they would try againg next time it was in. Seems that nobody had asked to have the DRLs turned on

My service writer had no idea it could be done but he handed me of to a tech that had me up and running on 20 minutes with ambers up front and dimmed tail lights (one of several options in the IDS menu) in the rear. Very cool, hottest FX4 in CT as far as I know!

So my 2013 XLT screw doesn't have them automatically? I know I have some sort of "auto" function on the ****, what's the difference?

I've been thinking about getting my dlr turned on.
Can all the lights still be turned off from the headlamp switch?

How were you able to convince your service guy to do that. I talked to my local dealer and he said the only way to get DRL's, was to get a module installed. Maybe I'll have to try another dealership, just let me know the right words to say. Thanks.
