After reading through the Forscan threads it seems like the MX bluetooth is the best option. I guess $79 is a small price to pay in the long run. I already saved money with IDS programming my new cluster and turning off my DRLs.

Or you could pay $5 to get one like the one I've been using for 3 years.

The adapter is simply a Bluetooth link between vehicle and laptop (just like the VCMII) so functionality is limited only by the software itself.
