With out removing the headliner I was able to slide a USB cord up under it. Just takes gentle tug at it while shoving the cord between the headliner and the roof. No damage or sag to the headliner. I'm just trying to imagine all the gear you'd basically have to ziptie to that tube and it sounds unwieldy. I'd take that USB along the headliner, down the column (behind it), and then do all your conversion and wiring near the kick panel. Also, that tube on the mirror isn't very substantial. Even a tap wire into it would make a huge mess up there.

Is this normal or are others having this problem?
I remember mine was full and stopped. I just hit the record button and it restarted.

Also, I've only formatted my card once, when it was new. I remove my card every 6 hours of video or so, insert it into a microSD adapter and plug it into my card reader on my PC. I save those videos I want, delete the rest. Empty the card, re-insert into the camera, works fine.

edit - i ended up using the USB2 to power my dashcam - originally i used usb2 for thumbdrive music so i already had the cord in the glove box so i just ran a new usb to mini cord from the mirror to glove box and it works perfectly - i did do one mod to the cord

figured this would prevent the cam from thinking it was attached to a computer -

Well, I'm sad to report my E-Prance camera is toast. I've been using it almost daily for the last 3 months or so and it's been trouble free until a few days ago. I noticed it quit auto starting, wouldn't restart no matter how much it was or wasn't charged. Pretty much a blank, black screen now, dead. Tried all kinds of button pushing, etc. nothing.

Bought it on Amazon and they offered me an 80% credit towards another one. I figure, why not? It works good when it works and I have built a special mount for it anyway.

Since it's stuck in the pocket on the dash, I'm guessing the heat got to it here in AZ and NM?

Shame to hear that. My Mini 0801 is still working but the onboard battery is toasted. Probably heat related as well. As long as it keeps storing video I'm happy.

Glad to know Amazon is basically insuring these for us

So your on board battery is toast, so the display screen lights up when plugged in to power correct?

Ya. I mean I'm not even sure why it has a battery to begin with. I guess it's convenient to review videos.
