I know this has been a issue of some digital cameras now that they all shoot video also. If you shut down the camera before it is done processing the video file it would give you errors. So maybe try the least amount of time for each file?? Just a thought! Also did you format the card using the unit, a computer or right out of the box started using it???

BTW are you getting about 1.5 hours as stated on the 8 gig card?

I know you want it to work the way it is suppose to but at the same time if the internal memory records over an hour then at least you are still protected as if there is a problem *accident* then you only usually will need a couple of minutes.

TBS I was planning on using it while the truck is parked so I am hoping you get it worked out, That way if I see a scratch or something wrong with the truck I can review the files to see who is to blame!
I've tried changing the recording time but that didn't help. Yes, I get about 1.5 hrs on the 8GB card. As you say, it's good enough for any incidents. I'm going to try whatever SD card Smoky has when he replies as I suspect it's my SD card causing the issue.

It is strange that you have the one they recommended and still having issues. Maybe you could try formatting it with a computer or a camera and try it? I never had a problem with a flash drive not working other than the format issues. You could try doing a full format vs the quick one that is mostly used.

You Know I just thought of something else... possibly the resolution?? maybe try to record in a different resolution if that is possible. I think I remember reading that you had a place to change it on the menu! That can cause the problem also! I have had that issue when I was doing editing on the computer with different file formats and resolution.

I haven't run mine long enough to start the overwrite. I have it recording now in HD, 5 minute loops. I'll report back with findings.

Bullets, So you found the internal overwrites ok every 1.5 hours or so?

Ya no problem with internal. Loops every 1.5 hours. I've been on a road trip this week so plenty of testing! I formatted the 32gb the first time it filled up and stopped. It did the same thing on the second fill.

Yes, mine finally stopped recording and said "Full" on the screen. I powered it down and powered it up, still said "Full" on the display but it started recording and started overwriting files to make room for the new video. According to the instructions, this is the way it works.

No error notifications.

Awesome, I think you're in the majority. What card did you out in it?

Seems to be a slightly higher resolution. Any other differences?
