Copy that, just noticed it comes with only 8GB so maybe about an 1-1.5 hrs on the included card

So yes, having GPS data on the record helps in court, definitely. Whether it's to your favor or the opposite that depends, of course.....
Haha true dat.

The 8gb is internal, no card. You have to select in the menu if you want to copy to the internal or external memory card. Won't do both, one or the other.

I haven't tried the 8gb internal yet. But it should be good for 1-1.5 hours. I read many reviews where some were having trouble with certain manufactures and classes of Micro SD cards. Worst case scenario, you have the internal for back up.

Here's a video review;

LOL at "WAF". Wife Acceptance Factor. I think I'm going to go with this one, need to find a cable long enough to run all the way around and into the center console for power then I can use the usb to transfer to computer if need be.

USB connection is for charging the internal battery and accessing the internal DCIM file. Puter sees it as another drive.

For the external card, simply remove the Micro SD card and place it into a Micro SD adapter and place it into a card reader. Puter sees it as another drive.

I have to report I'm getting storage IO errors with the class 6 Samsung 32GB SD card I purchased. This is frustrating because that's the card people have said works best with this camera. Until I can find a firmware that fixes the issue I'm stuck to using the 8GB card. Not a deal breaker, but pretty annoying.

Not that I know anything about the unit as I don't own one yet but I noticed you could set the file time (time of each file) for a lack of better words? I wonder if that has anything to do with it? The reason I say this is the auto shut down on the unit may not have enough time to finalize the last file recorded and then shuts down. I know this has been a issue of some digital cameras now that they all shoot video also. If you shut down the camera before it is done processing the video file it would give you errors. So maybe try the least amount of time for each file?? Just a thought! Also did you format the card using the unit, a computer or right out of the box started using it???

BTW are you getting about 1.5 hours as stated on the 8 gig card?

I know you want it to work the way it is suppose to but at the same time if the internal memory records over an hour then at least you are still protected as if there is a problem *accident* then you only usually will need a couple of minutes.

TBS I was planning on using it while the truck is parked so I am hoping you get it worked out, That way if I see a scratch or something wrong with the truck I can review the files to see who is to blame!

I formatted my Micro SD card before using. Plus, I did some research and I decided upon the Class 4 card. No errors yet.

Smoky, The issue happens when the card is full and it's attempting to clear up space as it records. Once your card is full, check to make sure it keeps recording. It won't always fail, but frequently enough to not be trusted. If the light stops blinking then you're not recording. It's a known issue, but they said it was fixed.

What card did you buy? I'm thinking of trying a new SD card to see if that helps.
