That's all...

My main point was that who (in their right mind) wants to take their eyes off the road to look at a GPS and reconnoiter their position and the other information on the relatively tiny screen whilst driving? How long does it take to veer into another lane or run into someone who stopped short in front of you? (YIKES!)
Actually I was wrong. As I re-read it, it's on the drivers side.

I understand the law. I happen to enforce it.

ProClip makes a great mount for that opening on the dash. You can then customize the mounting plate for an iPad or iPhone. I have the iPhone mount with a lightning connector and it works great.

I read right over that... HAH! Good catch!

Keep up the good work Leo! (I almost became one - in another life. Have many friends who are... )

My main point was that who (in their right mind) wants to take their eyes off the road to look DOWN at a GPS and reconnoiter their position and the other information on the relatively tiny screen whilst driving? That was the main reason why I stopped using this particular bracket on the passenger side pocket. Taking my eyes so far away from the road to see a smallish map screen is not ideal. Need to try the mount that goes to the upper left of the radio, but have yet to do so. Picture is of the Proclip mount with a custom holder for the Droid X, install took about 15 seconds.

While not perfect in form, what I did was to fab a piece of stainless to fit on top of the center dash with a GPS mount bolted to the perch (I don't happen to trust the supplied 'adhesive discs')
