Dash Cam install help - What fuse?
I purchased two Dash Cams. One of my 2010 f150 platinum and one for my wife's 2014 explorer sport. I ordered fuse taps for each. See below
And this direct wire kit
My intent is to have the camera automatically turn on and off with the vehicle. Any recommendations on where to access the proper fuse in these two vehicles?
Thanks

I tapped my rear view mirror/camera monitor into the hill decent switch fuse. I don't have the option on my truck. So, the fuse was vacant but wired up.
You could probably use the same for the truck. Not sure about the explorer...

In passenger side footwell, I believe it is fuse 39??? But don't quote me on that. Look in your owners manual and a fuse right around there will be a 12V switched and will be labeled Stereo-Accessory delay or something to that effect. That's the one you want.
I have a dashcam, radar detector, and 12v remote turn on for amplifiers running off of that tap in my truck. Works perfect.

Well you technically have two covers. The cover you can see that your feet can touch, and then the cover of the ACTUAL fuse box. The actual fuse box cover would not go back on with the fuse taps I have in there. I also have one on mine for the Raptor 3rd brake light. The cover that you can visibly see in the truck that your feet can touch is still there and is more than enough to cover everything up for me. No issues with it that way going on 4 years.

So I'm looking at the manual, but I'm not sure how to tell if it's switched or not. I see that it says two and three aren't used, so could I just use one of those?
