Default damn running boards!!

So I am sick and tired that only half the running board can be used to get in out of the truck because the other half sits too far under the truck to be utilized. Did they fix this for the 13's or should I be looking to buy aftermarket?

I hear you.

One of the reasons I, and many here, got the AMP Research Power Steps.

When deployed they stick far out from body, so you can plant whole foot comfortably on the tread. And, they extend down to a much better height as well, vs. the stock form over function versions.

Oh, also, they look pissa when they automatically open and close.

Thx.

I had the same issue on my 2012 KR. After a month I took them off and had the AMP Research boards put on. Havent looked back once and absolutely love the AMPs.

Check out this thread, waterboyjlw made some extender brackets....I followed that method and I'm much happier with the boards.... AMPs are awesome but expensive.

My 13 isn't any different. The first thing I noticed after buying the truck too.

Fortunately I own a truck accessory store so I have options.

I foresee some AMPs in my near future.

This is my first truck with power running boards. Took me a while to get used to them. Open the back door while standing close to the truck to get something out of the back seat, and the power running boards deploy and hit me in the shins. Ouch.
