Default D rated tires

Are there and manufacturers that make 34-35" AT tires that are D rated?

I'm only finding E rated in those sizes.

If so, are there pros and cons?

E rated tires have better weight ratings than d rated.... e have 10 ply, not sure what d have... but e is the standard rating for 3/4 and up trucks....

Not going to find any. All e and 10 ply. Wouldn't want a d rating on my truck. Not 10 ply too easy to puncture and couldn't take any weight.

My Duratacs are load range "D", they are 8 ply and ride way smoother than the load range "E" that I had on before but they don't handle as well as the E rated tire in curves and cornering.

I had the BFG TA/KO's in a 315x70x17 on my '04 Lariat that were D rated. They were made for the H2 Hummer's...50 psi max and I ran them at 42 psi and they rode great. Took them off at 42K miles and sold them to a friend with a Hummer. They were only half worn and probably could have gone another 30K miles or more easily.

Factory tires on the Hummer...BFG also made them for the Ford Raptor. Two different product code numbers but they were almost the same tire.

Tires are not made for a vehicle just because they come on them. I guess bfg long terrains were made for my truck.

Actually, i have read on several trusty sources that some OEM tires are developed specifically for that vehicle to improve "performance" (could be mileage, comfort, handling, depending). They may not differ by much from the "regular" tire, but they are slightly different.
Could be all marketing too, of course.
