Default custom yet factory front mount camera (the way it should have been)

BTW this also should post in things under 50.00 lol

i wanted to start out and say i have the lock pick hooked up that allows me to toggle back and forth..

so as i was looking around on ebay for "THINGS TO DO TO MY TRUCK AND RANDOM MONEY TO SPEND"

i came across this guy selling a 'front mount' camera set up .. OR a rear mount for people without factory mounted cams as long as you have the lock pick

he wanted 200 for the set up ..

now i dont really sleep so i thought i could find it for a better price..

then i looked at what he was really selling ..

and thought "i could part that together myself"

went to local ford dealership

rear camera housing... 23.00
ford emblem for housing... 8.00
cmos night vision camera 23.00

so i bought it all ... connected it to the lock pick .. and works great ..

only heads up is that the front housing does not mount like the 'factory flat ford logo does'

so i had to use some clear gorilla glue..

here are the results

still need to clean up the housing a little from the silicone... but when cleaned up it will look perfect

Not a bad idea! What year is your truck and what are the other things the lockpick allow you to do? Plug and play or do you have to cut wires?

That looks really good. Can you snap a pic of the gorilla glue area or is that all just under the emblem. I am curious to see how it holds up. What type of climate are you in?

plug and play

i can turn on rear or front camera as i am driving (rear camera on is good if you are towing things to keep an eye on them)

i can override the nav system that wont let my passenger use touch screen functions as i am driving

i can override the AV inputs so passenger can watch a movie

basically anything the system wont let you do in motion i can do with touch of a button

http://www.coastaletech.com/

or check ebay

make sure you get the right one ..
2013's use a specific set up
2010-12 use a diff one

lock pick is about 300-400.. depending if you get it direct or on ebay ..

WELL WORTH it .. i use it all the time.. espciailly when gf is like "ohh lets go here"
"ok... put it in the gps" so i turn the lock pick on .. and she does..

its only in "overide mode when you want it to be"

NOPE... MAX took me about 30 min ... installed and all
hardest part was taking it apart
once it was apart .. all plug and play .. went back together quick and that was it

if i was paying attention could have had it apart in 15 min ... lol
