Exclamation Cruise Control Button- Not responding

I have 2013 Ford F-150 STX SuperCab with 5.0L V8 (Coyote Gen 1)
I am second owner, currently have 156k, I purchased at 126k, so put on about 30k miles over the past 4.5 years.

When I purchased the truck, I noticed that sometimes when I hit the Volume button, it would change the channel on the radio.
I thought...hmm maybe the wires are too close and causing bad signal?

Well recently, past month or so, I've noticed that the cruise control does not immediately become available in the instrument cluster (with amber Cruise Ready) .
I have to push the button consistently for a few minutes, and eventually the cruise feature becomes available in the instrument cluster as amber cruise light.
I hit the "SET + " button and the cruise control functions as normal with green indicator in instrument cluster.

Any mechanics or electricians that can help me diagnose this issue with the steering wheel mounted controls?

Well that could be a switch failure or a clock spring failure. Did you retrieve any codes?

I am having the exact issue and have been meaning to post. 2012 XLT 175k. Is it possible to clean the cruise switch or replace without making a big project? I am also thinking bypass? Jumper into wiring somewhere and put an on off switch?
could codes be available without a light being on?
