Default CRC Intake and Turbo Cleaner - Anyone Used It?

I saw where the CRC Intake and Turbo Cleaner is available from O'Reilly's for free after rebate. Thought about giving this a shot on my 2012 F150 3.5L Ecoboost. Has anyone tried this product? If so, did you spray it directly in the turbo or in the intake behind the air box?

I would recommend against it if you have a lot of miles on the truck. Ford also recommends against it all together. The Theory is that chunks of carbon can fall off into the cylinders and then pass through the turbo and potentially cause damage.

I have used it, but started doing it at oil changes when the truck only had like 10,000 miles on it, so it didnt have much time to build up crap on the intake. The first time I used it the truck smoked like crazy, but each time since then its been pretty drama free.

Thumbs up

Ok thanks for the information. I'm about to top over the 100,000 mile mark so may just let it ride. Haven't seen any real performance issues (rough idling, sluggish acceleration, turbo lag, etc). My extended warranty is still good for another 25,000 but didn't want to void it.

I just did it last week, followed the directions and then took for a drive. I didnt get all the smoke and smells described but it does seem to idle/run better. On my truck I removed air tube at throttle body and sprayed through there.

CRC specifically recommends it for the Ford Ecoboost. Their claim is that it is turbo safe and that there is no worry about carbon chunks breaking off in that the product heat soaks into the carbon and dissolves it so that it is simply burned off.

I've used it and I think I will run a can through prior to every oil change from now on. No issues whatsoever and my truck runs great at 56K.
