Default cracking sound from front driverside

Im hearing a cracking type sound coming from the front driverside suspension area, just started today when i moved it in the driveway , i hardly ever use the truck it was parked all last winter and i only used it once this summer . Checked all around the suspension area with a light and found nothing visually, anyone have any ideas what it might be ?

Have any of your ball joints been replaced that maybe have a grease fitting? If so i'd start by applying a pump or two in each. If not then i'd suspect one of them may be worn. You'll have to lift the front off the ground and check. I had one cracking and just had a buddy lift and lower the front while I listened to each suspension component with a mechanics stethoscope.

Possibly, but it has that cracking sound just keeping the wheels straight and moving a coupla feet in the driveway forward or reverse, its only on the drivers side, had the entire passenger side suspension replaced about 3 years ago including the shock tower, only had the control arms replaced on the drivers side ( $1200 job)
I have a suspicion that it may be the sway bar linkage on the drivers side ? not sure ,tho the one on the passenger side is new.

You can disconnect the sway bay end links and test. Just disconnect both sides.

SOOOOOOO, I recently started noticing a similar sound. After I shut the truck off and get out I can hear a cracking sound coming from the left front. I suspect it's actually brake related and these are early signs that I possibly have either a sticky caliper or a swollen/collapsed brake hose and the sound is the caliper retracting very very slowly and not smoothly. I came to this conclusion because one of the last times I drove it, there was a time or two that the truck had a very slight pull to one side or the other while braking. Not enough to be instantly noticeable, but just a hint of pull. And then when I got home I heard the noise. Knowing these trucks are notorious for swollen brake hoses and sticking calipers I put 2 and 2 together. I have other vehicles to drive so the truck doesn't get driven much. I intend to drive the truck tomorrow and do some digging over the next few days to see if I can come up with a better answer.

Update: i was randomly spraying some penatrant oil around the suspension area and re-undercoated the truck for the winter and when i i took it for a drive the cracking sound is gone, go figure ? Still dont know how that fixed it but anyway alls well.
