Default Couple questions on my new F150

New to Ford so I am sorry if these are rather obvious questions.
1. 4wd- the **** turns to 2wd, 4hi and 4lo. What does pulling the **** out do?
2. Instrument guage has an LCD screen. The top item labeled Guages has 3 read outs when you scroll to the right. The 3rd readout is blank. Any ideas?
3. Heated mirrors - are they automatic or do I turn them on manually?

I'm sure I will have more questions along the way. Thanks for all the help!

when you pull 4x4 **** out that's probably your rear locker if you are equiped with it. what year is the truck. and there is a button for your heated mirrors. unless they changed that after 2011 but i don't think. my cluster has a blank screen too. it's nice sometime not to have anything there. welcome and post some pics of your truck

1 Im not sure about pulling the **** out. I don't have 4x4
The blank LCD screen is to dark it for night driving.
The heated mirrors are on a switch on the center stack.
all of the above is clearly explained in the owners manual you know that book they give you that nobody reads.

Will read the manual, just figured if someone took the time to reply with a post "telling me to read the manual" they might just as easily say "xxx". No big deal. Just wanted to check.

Another dumb question: what does a rear locker do? Guessing if I am asking I will never need to use it!

Thanks again.

The rear locker locks the right and left axle together to give maximum traction. Only use it in a situation where there will be slippage such as snow, dirt, mud, slick boat ramp.
