Its what happens to the sheet metal once the panel is cast out of the die.

Again, just trying to explain that to you. We had a guy keep bringing in his 09 xlt, back when I worked at a ford dealer for that same "distortion" we ordered 4 doors for him. They all had the same look. He wouldn't accept it. So we ended up fixing them all!!! Yup... bondo on his nice brand new(well back then) '09 xlt with 3000 miles!!!

And not trying to plug ford....but I have found that jeep, and chevy parts are by far the worst!! Haha!
Thanks never knew there was a term for it, doesn't really bother me, just one of those things you notice when your borderline OCD about cars lol.

I can tell by the thread the OP shared on his center console that he pays attn. to detail (nice btw)I'm nowhere near OCD but that's a half inch off,I just couldn't live with it.

take a look again... it's not the bed. it's the cab (if you're is like mine). i had to loosen the frame bolts and shift my cab a half inch to the driver's side. the front left (driver's side) wheel was sticking out a halft inch. you have to pivot about the back left (depending on your situation).

it looks like i'm not alone...

Here is the passenger's side

and here is the driver's side

Could a couple of you check to see if this is the way it is on your truck? Not saying it is a problem but maybe the bed isn't aligned properly!

I just picked up a 2012 a few days ago and decided to check upon seeing this thread. Yep, mine's a bit off as well. Not as much as the OP, but enough to **** me off (.5") Guess I'll be calling my dealer tomorrow.
Thanks for the heads up!

my 09 xlt has the bed shifted one inch off center to the left so from behind you can see the hinge on the passenger side scab rear door

It never has bothered me much though, so I haven't said anything.
Same exact thing here. Took me over a year to notice it though.
