I went to MIDAS this morning to see what it would cost....$400 with an alignment? That's a bit ridiculous isn't it? I might as well wait to install it myself!

Now I jusr want to know (for those who had it done professionally) how much you all have paid to have your kits installed?
Don't go cheap with your leveling kit, there is a reason some are more expensive than others. Also keep in mind that most places won't install the leveling kit you buy from a 3rd party if they don't offer any kind of insurance on their product. Rough Country is a perfect example..don't buy those spacers..they are garbage. Your looking at about anywhere between 80-100 bucks for the spacers and another $200 for install..not including alignment (around $80). I know it sounds expensive, but nothing good comes from taking a shortcut. Especially on a vehicle you will drive everyday. Get a good quality product, and you will be fine

I paid $330 for Bilstein 5100s and alignment to be installed at my Ford dealer!

Be sure not to cheap out as I've seen many budget installs go bad because people screwed up IWE hen installing.

Thanks for all the replies!!

For those of you who have installed the kit themselves, how hard is it? Is it worth the effort or should I just cough up the money?

How are Rough Country spacers garbage? They look and feel like every other block of aluminum.

I installed Rough Country spacers on my truck. Its fine if you have the right tools but if you don't you are in for quite a treat! Disclaimer, the lower strut bolt is going to be the hardest part for you without a doubt! (if you are installing on your 2012) its torqued ridiculously. I was using a 800ft/lb impact wrench and it was struggling

If you go with new struts you'll want to take it to a shop that has a strong coil spring compressor.

If you go with a full coilover set they slide right in and then you can adjust them with the truck still lifted.

I just got a quote yesterday at a local shop - $360 for a Rough Country 2.5" level kit., the guy said it takes about 3 hours. I just don't have the tools and it would probably take me all day! I was getting my new BF Goodrich AT KO2s installed and asked the shop to quote the level kit (LOVE the tires though - gained about 1" in lift going with the larger size (went from stock P275/65R18s to LT275/70R18s on my 2012 F-150 Lariat SCrew, stock suspension). My old tires had a lot of edge wear, the truck was not too much out of alignment so not sure what the deal with the edge wear is.

I waited to get the new tires to see if I wanted to level...and with the new tires, the rake is more noticeable to me. I am leaning towards the Bilstein 5100s instead, for a little more cost in parts, and about the same in labor I can level and upgrade the stock shocks. I read on lot on these forums the back and forth between just leveling with a spacer vs. upgrading to a leveling shock kit.

3600 in and out complete. Max Track 3" leveling kit, 20X9 XD818 machined finish wheels, 34" Nitto Terragrappler tires. Ordered all parts and had installed by the same company.

he ended up only charging me $250 for the kit and install. Alignment cost me $98 at Pepboys. And that's at EP Engine Performance in Smyrna Delaware, talk to Evan Potter.
