Default Cooling fans on almost all the time?

Our 2014 EB has only 8,000 miles on it, but this is the first time we've driven it in nearly 100 degree temperatures.
Yesterday, we towed our TT nearly 500 miles in these temps at highway speeds, and when we got into town, the cooling fans started up shortly after getting into town, and would not turn off until we parked it and turned off the engine.
Today, temps are nearly as hot, and after just driving around town, the cooling fans started back up again (not towing).
Two questions:

1. Do your cooling fans run almost all the time in 100 degree temps?

2. Is it OK to turn off the engine when the cooling fans are running on high?

yes in those temps pulling and running the ac the fans may be on high
at highway speeds they will shut down if the temps allow it

its a smart truck, only trying to get as much air across the tubes as possible
personally before shutting it down when its so hot is to shut off the ac and let her idle a few minutes and see if the fans come down
my truck they shut off less than a minute

If your AC is on, yes
If your coolant temp is above 205 degrees, yes

My 2014 EB does the same thing, but I'm in AZ so I'll get to hear it for like 9 months out of the year

Was outside my truck the other day & it's kinda loud too, & I'm not even towing

The fans (sound like a Jet airplane-lol) don't bother me, as long as the AC is blowing cold, which it does - it's all good (were talking 105°-112°...or even hotter in the AZ!

My duramaxs fan would kick on during a hot day. Nothing in tow, just the ac on.
