Default console swap, tint, bedliner pics

So after driving my new F150 for a couple of weeks I decided that the front jump seat had to go. It wouldn't have been so bad if they would have kept the same design that my old 09 f150 had, but they decided to add a head rest and shoulder belt, which totally took away all store capacity under the lid, plus it seemed like it sat up really high and couldn't get comfortable while resting my right arm on it. So I searched ebay for a while and finally found one that would match at a decent price so I picked it up. I have a 2012 XLT with the custom package and it has the black and grey interior. The swap was pretty straight forward... I had to unbolt the front seats and slide them up and back to be able to reach the bolts to screw the new console in. It didn't come with bolts so I got some self tapping metal screws, but I still had to drill a pilot hole cause the screw wouldn't bite.

Before the swap

Seat unbolted to reach bolts

All bolted up

I also got my front 2 windows and winsheild tinted and bed liner sprayed from a member on here named Ecoboost hank. He owns a tint shop and does spray in bedliners and sells pretty much every truck accessory imaginable. This would be the 4 car he's done for me and they always come out great. Highly recommend if your in the area. The bed liner looks great.. nice and even and no over spray. I believe the tint is 35% on the front to match the factory tint in the rear.

OK I'll bite. I've been searching and searching and searching for the gray console and no can find. I did find an adobe one. Any suggestions other than "Search ebay"? Where did you get yours?

I got it on ebay. I just kept looking everyday for about a month till I saw this one. The guy actually had it listed as an 04-08 console, but when I saw the side mounting holes in it I knew it was the 09 up. $365 shipped is what I ended up paying for it.

I've had the exact same thoughts as you. . . .Just having a hard time pulling the trigger on a $300+ purchase for a new center console. I keep my truck very clean, and I already have permanent slight discoloration of the center jump seat/arm rest on my '11 XLT with 12,000 miles. Why on earth would Ford design a center console that you put your arm/hand on all the time while driving with carpet?! Ugggh. . . besides, it just looks ugly imo even if it stayed clean.

Did you try selling your jump seat/console to offset the cost? I've seen them on ebay for around $100, but it doesn't seem like they are selling well. . . probably cause no one wants this stupid seat!

I thought about selling it, but once I took it out and noticed that it weighs a ton I'll prob just keep it. I'll mount it to a wood base and use it as a seat in my garage.

I have an STX with a jump seat (which I like) but it doesn't have the cup holder/storage pocket in it. I would be interested in the jump seat, seat back if I could retrofit it to mine.
