Default Considering Buying 2010 Lariat

I'm considering a 2010 Lariat with 150k miles, seems to be in good shape and well maintained. I'm wondering if there is anything I should specifically be looking for during inspection and test drive. Any known problems with this year and model? Anything in general I should check and be sure is ok before I make an offer?

Thanks very much!

How much are they asking? I just watched a 2010 Lariat run through a local auction with 170k and it brought 10k. It was in excellent cosmetic and mechanical shape too.

The dealer is asking 14k and it has 161k on it. This one also appears to be in good shape. It's in Dearborn, MI. Any advice on getting them down in price?

Thanks,
Slader

If it's one of those no haggle price dealers, you're out of luck. Just wait for them to cut the price if it sits too long. They are probably in it 10-12k,maybe less if they lowballed it on a trade. If you have a trade, they can offer a higher price for your trade to being down the perceived cost of the other vehicle. It's all a game

Rust because it's probably a Canada truck. The 5.4 also has passenger side exhaust leak issues, they were supposed to fix the cam phasers but mine ticks when you first start it, and HVAC door motor going out. Those are the main issues.

As a comparison, I just bought a 2010 Lariat (black/gold) in Jul w/ 125K on it. Exterior has some scratches/swirls, but the interior is good and it seems to be mechanically sound. I gave just over $13K for mine.

I just signed papers on a 2010 limited max tow supercrew 4x4 6.5 bed, with 41k miles, OTD for 24,500. I am going "backwards" from my 2012 Lariat that had 87k miles, dealer gave me 22k trade. The max tow (3.73 gears) has considerably more low end grunt than the 5.0 trucks which are more like sports cars. Great for u loaded driving but real high revving when towing.

I'll sell you a '14 STX supercrew 4x4 5.0 with 144k on the clock.
