End of Summer check in with the donor truck!

This summer we ran the pot down in the 325 +/- range. 95% of the time it performed flawlessly, with a steady temp at 40 and some as low as 38. The other 5% brought a weird cooling strategy that performed like the pot was not in, 44 - 48. No freeze ups on long trips.

One other thing we did different was, when possible, we parked the truck in or under a cover. In doing this, we saw the truck almost immediately upon start up, perform very cold. In our opinion, this had nothing to do with no radiant heat build up, but rather it was very clear that the hidden sensors are impacted by direct long term sunlight exposure.

Summer is behind us now, time to remove the pot from the donor truck, for normal heat and winter defrost!

See yawl next summer!

I'm curious if there is a how to buried in this thread? Looking to do this but not seeing any step-by-step details (if there are any)

Look at post 329, not much to do. You get a resistor, and plug it in like post 329. I will look further for better shot.

read thru the last 2 or 3 pages. You will see its kinda different for each system. Some have good luck with a 470. The donor has a variable pentometer in it, not sure what the current setting is: maybe 375 or 365.

When you mention the resistance of these resistors, are these meant to be 490, or 490k?

I think I am finally getting a grasp on this, just want to be sure. Will try some of the more popular choices here and see what works for me. A big thanks to you and everything in this thread blazing the trail to a solution.

I'm still having some issues, I can't find a way to release the sensor side (firewall) clip?? How does it get released?

I think you lift from the backside and push/slide forward. Let me go out and check. Its somewhere earlier in all of this.
