Compressor cycling fix

1 Attachment(s)
2011 F150 XLT crew 3.7l 168850 miles Installed 10k Ohm potentiemeter on evaporator sensor side of conector plug. Adjust to control cycling. So far... No more cycling. Temp at vents under 40 deg. $2.00

Where is the plug you are installing this on?? Is it the low pressure switch?? Is the potentiometer set to the full 10k_Ohm?? Need some more info man. Interested in this. But you will need to be careful cooler days cause it will freeze up your coils.

More info ...

Behind the glove box you will see black wire coming out of the box. Right where the two halves come together. Follow it up about 6 inches to where the plug is next to the wiring harness. This is the evaporator temp sensor. I set the potentiemeter about mid range as a starting point to See what kind of adjustment there is. I live in Miami. It'd 85 degrees feels like 98. So far no freeze up. Mine was cycling at 9 second intervals. I will put a voltmeter on it and check the voltage drop from 5 volts. When I get more info I will post it.

What year truck did you do this on?

First off: wow I'm interested.

Secondly: 168k miles on a 2011? Whoa dude that's a lot of driving!

I understand how this works what I want to know is. Is there a way to edit the system so that the cutoff is at a lower psi. I did this and I got temps in the 20's. That's awesome but the system will freeze if ran too long like that.
