Yep on the donor truck, we found that there was a very fine line after about 330K.

Donor truck in Houston today was stellar! Fast cool down, no swing in temps during cycling. Need to put the multi meter on the 1 Meg single turn POT, to see where it is set.

Exactly the same here. Although it swings in temps, it's not as drastic like the normal 44-52F. More like 37-41. I haven't driven highway with this mod, but city driving it did go down to 35 briefly in 95F ambient.

I didn't take a pic, but me and the wife were sitting in the truck this evening and the vent temp got down to 34.4F! She was freezing but I thought it felt great! It's about 85F nighttime here.

Quick question. When the temperature gets too cold can you still regulate it by turning it up or down with a.c. controls on dash or screen?

Yes, the resistor has no effect on blend door control, just up the temp.

I'm going to pick up one of those digital thermometers today and take a couple pictures of what a 346k with a factory spec 134a charge looks like at the vent.

Yes you can, but if you use the wrong one and you freeze the evaporator, you will have to turn the system off.

Success for the donor truck has been 350K to 335K, anything lower freezes.

I see this as a summer fix, since during other times of the year the system can handle much lower temps OK. Or leave it in!

Or switch to outside air for a few minutes if you think it's starting to freeze. But if it's frozen I agree, turn it off.
