I am starting this project and don't want to screw up my trim or bust an airbag. I will disconnect the battery first.

thanks
Sure thing its actually fairly simple.

Once you have removed the glove box there are 3 screws holding in the airbag. Remove the screws and from the inside gently push outwards on the bottom of the external case of the airbag. Once its out enough for you to get a hold of it from the front gently pull outwards and up slightly. You also have to slide the flow through center console back to get the trim piece off where the glove box is located. I found out how to do this from a you tube video.

The harness was $190 and the switches where $220, keep in mind to that this is in Canadian $$$ . You can get the switches cheaper off ebay but I didn't want to take the chance of getting the wrong part.

In order to get the trim off that has the cubby in it you have to remove the airbag to get at the 2 screws holding it the trim. The radio doesn't have to come out.

I've been googling pictures and can't figure out what the difference between the raptor and super duty switches. Can you elaborate? Thanks.

I have also noticed that there were no good how to guides on upfitter switches and I was planning on making one, but you beat me too it and did a better job then I would have been able to do anyway. Thanks!

Most of the posts I had seen with guys using the Raptor switches they are using the whole panel and that didn't appeal to me. I think the switches them self are the same as the ones used in the F250's and up. The harness I used was strictly F250 and up as the Raptor has a different color code for wiring which i also have a print out of that as well.

Awesome write-up. Do you happen to have the part numbers for the up fitter switch assembly, harness and relay box that you used? Also, are you sure the relay box doesn't mount right next to the primary fuse box? Look at the mounting points right next to the primary fuse box...they look like they were made for something to mount there.....
