Hello all, I'm somewhat new to this forum as far as posting goes but I have been using this forum as a resource for a few things.

After about a month of searching the internet for the best way to install Ford factory upfitter switches into my new to me 2013 F150 Platinum my head was spinning. Tons of threads on numerous forums with less then adequate information and pictures and a few incomplete installs that where somewhat useless to me or anyone for that matter.

So I took matters into my own hands and went to visit my good friends at my local Ford dealer where there head mechanic and my local Ford guru friend looked up the wiring schematics for both the Raptor and F250 upfitter switches for me.

I purchased both the factory switches and wiring harness direct from Ford as to make sure I received exactly what I wanted. I have everything installed, working the way they should and I documented everything with pics so I could put together a how-to of sorts for anyone who wants to add these as well.

So give me a little bit to have my dinner, wait for pic to upload to Photo Bucket & I will return to complete this thread.

OK so first off here are the switches and wiring harness that I bought from Ford. Had to trim the body of the switches a little as well as a little bit of the plastic molding behind the trim panel. I removed the little cubby on the passenger side as it was useless to me. I ordered the switches and harness for the F250 as the Rapture switches where not to my liking.

Cheaper to make your own. Plastic is cheap and a few 8 dollar switches.

Will be looking for this post, I have rigid duallys for the front, a set of hellas for the back and a set of cheapo eyourlife floods for my bull bar all to hook up to a set of upfitters.


I have put two sets of these in superduty trucks for which they were designed. This time I have no wire harness, so can't wait to see how your plan works out.


So far I have made a diagram of how the switches work and have the wires connected to the pins on the back. I have the relays and diodes to hook up the rears to the back up lights and to one of the upfitter switches to have dual control.

Did you just use the OEM plastic that came with the switches to mount in the cubby. Mine seems to have a curvature, I would be interested to see some pics of how you trimmed the switch and the cubby to overcome the curve and some have said there is metal and plastic behind the cubby area that has to be trimmed / bent??


The main reason, is I am thinking of using the area under the main light switch and relocating the instrument dimmer control.
