Default Common Problems For 2009-2014 F150s

I've had several of these trucks and overtime they ALL seem to have these problems:

- Passenger side exhaust leak at the manifold
- Headliner will sag by the sunroof
- Driver and passenger side temperature actuators make a clicking sound and eventually fail
- Third brake light will leak water into the headliner
- Rear driver and passenger side door harness wires will crack and tear apart inside the rubber accordion boot
- Transmission leak at the bulkhead sleeve connector

Every single one of my trucks had this issue and I thought I'd let future buyers know what to look for when buying a used '09-'14 F-150.

I had to replace the heater actuator on my '10 @ 65K miles...Not a terrible fix, about $30 part and 3 hours...but I have the single control...I pity you guys with the dual climate heaters..the left side actuator replacement takes about 4 days to do. No other problems with my truck and I'm at 91K

I've had 3, with roughly 220,000 miles combined. A 2005, 2010 and now a 14. I honestly can say, I have not.. had any of those issues.
Aside from an awful engine/tranny setup when it came to power in the 05, I've had very good luck with my trucks.
Sure there were the typical wear items, like an Iwe actuator and one caliper, but even then, that was after 100,000 miles.

The only issue I've had with my 14 (37k miles on it now) is that I had to replace all four of the rotors at 37k. I won't blame the 35 inch tires on that either.

I have an '11 Lariat with about 63,000 miles. Special Ordered in Oct. of '10, took delivery in Jan. '11. I've had the usual rotor warping issue, dead battery issue, camera issue and slip yoke bump issue. Otherwise she's been great.

36,223 miles - Front rotors replaced.
44,584 miles - Battery replaced.
46,875 miles - Recommend front rotor and pad replacement. Said no.
51,448 miles - Rear rotors turned/pads replaced.
51,531 miles - Slip Yoke Bump service tsb performed.
58,799 miles - Camera Guidelines gone: Updated software, no help.
60,300 miles - Camera replaced under Warranty and software updated.
60,808 miles - Battery replaced under Warranty.
63,080 miles - Upgraded all brake rotor and pads with aftermarket.
