Default Coating brush guard with bed liner?

Hello all, just noticed my brand new westin full brush guard has some chips and is starting to rust, I've only had it on the truck for about 4 or 5 months (it's powder coated black over steel). Maybe applying bedliner to the tubing sections will help prevent future chips and rusting? Any input would be great. TIA.

stay away from the rustoleum brand diy bedliner. it's not worth the effort needed to apply, even for a brush guard.

Plastidip seems like a better idea now that I think about it.

Plasti dip would work but it's not very durable. I just completed a project using the duplicolor roll on bedliner. It comes out pretty nice. Supposedly it is uv resistant as well.

Did you contact westin or the vendor? There is a 3 year warranty on the powdercoating

Really? I didn't realize that, I bought it on amazon a few months back and have just noticed a few spots where the powder coat has chipped off and surface rust has just recently started showing up. I'll have to go back and find the vendor information....thanks for the info!

I'm not sure they make it anymore, but herculiner is good too. Bought some years ago and rolled it on a toolbox of my dads. Held up well to this day through all the abuse.

if you decide to go with a bedliner i can't suggest line-x enough. recently had my bed done ($500) and it was worth every penny. this stuff is tough as nails and quite thick, with a lifetime warranty.
