Default Cluster Swap from XLT to STX... Possible?

I have a 2013 STX and HATE the LED cluster... can I swap in an information display style from an XLT and above trim models? Or do they have different style wiring harnesses? Thanks in advanced!

There was a guy a while back that did the mod. It was plug and play from what I remember. But you need an XLT or equivalent steering wheel because you need the d-pad to be able to control the screen.

One disclaimer: when ever the cluster gets changed with a new one the mileage will default back to zero unless you have a Ford scan tool to flash the actual mileage back. Doing this mod without putting the truck back to original mileage is very illegal and is known as odometer fraud.

Mod wisely

The cluster retains the mileage. Find a used cluster with the correct mileage or higher, then wait to install it.

You'll need the directional buttons from an XLT steering wheel to scroll through the screens. No need to buy a whole steering wheel.

I looked into it but decided I didn't want to deal with the possible legal/resale issues of swapping the cluster.

I'll just leave this here.

MANY MODULES ARE SPECIFIC TO A VEHICLE/VIN AND HARDWARE VARIATIONS BETWEEN MODULES CAN AND DO EXIST. SWAPPING A MODULE FROM A DONOR VEHICLE OR ORDERING A MODULE USING A DIFFERENT VEHICLE/VIN CAN CAUSE INEFFECTIVE REPAIRS AND ADDITIONAL VEHICLE DOWN TIME.
