I bought a nice little 2 step stool, about $13.00 at Walmart, helps me when I wash, change oil, wax etc! It stays in the garage just for the truck!

I usually use a squeegee... It works great!
Also, I get to drive through a water car wash everyday at work so I use my wipers too lol (coal facility I work at they provide a free drive through on site)
Honestly the front windshield gets dirty fast so I don't bother hand wiping with windex or whatever I'm using.
I do hand wipe all inside windows and every other outside window+mirrors, quiet often I might add.
I like clean windows LOL

Stand on the tire. Only time I've had a problem doing that was clearing ice off the windshield one day, tire was icy too and fell off taking the wiper arm with me.

What I do, assuming your cleaning the drivers side, is to take my right foot and put it between the step bar and the bottom of the door, step up, reach over, clean. Do the reverse for the passenger side. It's worked fine so far.

I use a Windsheild Wonder. It's a bit over-rated but it good for reaching those hard to reach places. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Microfiber-W...-/380933474414
