The snappy clicky sound is not a huge deal, Its caused from two dry, pieces of tightly secured steel plates forcing on each other. The plate thats attached to the pinion from the rear driveshaft. I had this problem and I too brought it in and they said its normal which to me is code for they don't know.
I crawled underneath last year and coated it with silicone spray and the clicky sound went away for a few months, so I did it again with WD40 and it again went away for about 3 months. I may actually pull it off this summer and place a thin gasket soaked in lubricant or graphite grease between the two plates to see if that fixes it for good.

I'm gonna WD40 mine tonight thanks, if I pull the shaft off I'm going to put a thin coating of Molly lube between the plates and I recommend that everyone do the same, I have a water rapeling Molly that I used on my dirt bike it works wonders.

If all I have to do is crawl under the truck for 30 seconds every 3 months to keep it quiet, I'm all for it!! I'll try WD40 tonight.

mine makes a solid low noise metel on metal sound. only happens when im parked on a slight decline (nose down). im gonna try the power brake method and hope it doesnt happen like the youtube video that was posted.

And like someone else said, every three months give it a spray...kind of like greasing the joints.

Yes, I should have mentioned this first too...good point. Spray some penetrating oil without removing anything first. this way no warranty issues. Give it a spray and wait a day and give it another dosing.

My experience is the FOMOCO bongos here wont due you any good and it is pointless, if you have warranty and can lemon law it in the US take em for what it is worth, it is the only way to get satisfaction. Any vehicle being the second largest and first largest money losing item we will buy deserves more legal attention. There needs to be more coverage against manufacturers of high cost items. I can better TV warranty than my $50,000 dollar Fiord
