Default Chrome Wheels

Hey,

I've seen a few trucks with chrome wheels and i'm starting to like the look. It looks good on a black truck with very little chrome.

Has anyone used chrome wheels in the winter? or offroading? I had chrome wheels on a car once and they pitted, but I hear some wheels are chrome powdercoat so should last as long or better than paint.

I posed this question to my local tire shop. They recommended black wheels if subjected to winter road salt / chemicals. They said aftermarket chrome hasn't been as durable. Unless you buy the higher end wheels. Haven't looked into it much more than that as I am going with Dick Cepek Torque with black centers. No matter what, the key is keeping them as clean as possible.
