Hi Guys & Gals,

I could use some feedback from anyone running chrome rims and driving a fair amount of gravel road.

I'm waiting on my new truck to arrive and shopping for a second set of rims to run dedicated winter tires. I'm debating picking up a set of OEM chrome rims (18's) or a set of nice aftermarket chrome rims. Folks at the local tire shop said chrome rims do not stand up to travel on gravel roads - pitting, peeling, etc.

If you are running OEM or aftermarket chrome rims and travel on gravel roads, let me know how they are standing up, and how many years/miles you've run on them.

factory chrome rims hold up extremely well to road elements.

 

I have aftermarket chrome wheels on my truck and travel down dirt roads for work everyday. The chrome finish is still good after a year of having them on the truck.

I don't know where your located but make sure if your in a snowy area you put a good coat of wax before winter. I guess it's a good rule of thumb no matter where your at IMO
