I have to agree, the factory chrome package is way better quality. I got a 1000$ rebate from it also, so be sure to factor that into the price, depending on when you buy.

blueovelboy, i'm glad to see we are not the only Grinch fans around!!
i have the chrome package as well, and very glad i do. before i bought my truck i was thinking that less was more, for me anyway, because of the plans i had for the truck. well after having my dealer locate me one "exactly" the way i thought i wanted it, they got it here for me to look at, and i simply was not happy. it was base XLT, with nothing, not even carpet. it did have the limited slip 3.55 rear end and towing pkg but that was it. so after some thought, i passed on that truck and they found the one i have now. i can honestly say, i know it's simple plastic pieces in chrome, but it make a world of difference in appearance.

I was actually mad that I couldnt get my lariat with the rubber floors. Bought a 2008 sport trac in 2008 and was mad that it had rubber instead of carpet, but I grew to love it and now I hate carpet. the rubber is so much easier to clean and keep clean, carpet sucks! 80 percent or more people with carpet put rubber mats over top of it anyways. What do you like so much about carpet? It collects dirt and holds its and about the only damn way to get it clean is take it somewhere and pay 150$ to get the truck detailed unless you have access to your own carpet shampooer machine.

I would go ahead and get the factory chrom package. it's better quality and if something ever happens to it, it should be covered under warranty. and you can always do a swap with someone if you don't like the grill on it. this forum is a great place for that

i hear what you are saying Sultan, but i looked at both trucks side by side, and the rubber floors just looked cheap to me. i agree, they are more practical if you use the truck a lot. i wanted them too, but once i saw them i couldn't bring myself to buy it. i do have Husky Liner mats over my carpet though, and i love it. i used to detail vehicles, so cleaning carpet is nothing new to me. plus i don't let mine get that dirty.

Yea, i agree with ya about the rubber when i first bought the 08, paying that much for a vehicle with rubber floors, I thought they were cheap also, however after owning that vehicle for 2.5 years before I traded it off on the F150 I came to love the rubber floors. I farm so Im always driving on dirt/gravel roads and am always tracking dirt/rocks/mud into my truck, got some sweet rubber floormats to put over my carpet for the front seats that works flawlessly, but I still miss my rubber floors. I have yet to get the rubber mat for the backseat, got that damn subwoofer in there sticking out, hehe.

BlueOval - I'm liking the parking job you got going there. My wife absolutely HATES when I do that - I tell her I do it on purpose "just 'cause I can" She's from NJ and doesn't understand that. Anyway - I have the Chrome package and absolutely love it. I have had my truck for 14 months and still looks new. I traded someone on here (sorry, forgot who) to get the Chrome mirror caps, sent him my black ones.
