Ouch. Sorry about the truck, but at least everyone is ok. I had some woman almost hit me head on the other day. She tried to go around the drivers side of a car making a left turn and went straight into head on traffic (me). I was rip**** as I've had my truck a month. Slammed brakes on and Missed her by ~ 4 feet.

Looking at the pictures, I'd consider the pickup totaled, because of frame damage and I'm guessing sheared off engine mounts.

It probably would be best if they total it, because you can get a 2011 and not worry if the repairs would withstand a second collision.

Very happy no one was hurt, vehicles can be replaced and are simple material objects, people can't.

If it's not totaled then definitely keep in mind what a previous poster stated about "diminished value" A buddy of mine was in a wreck (his fault) and only after he asked about diminished value did they acknowledge it and then offered him a $500 check. He got a lawyer to contact them about it and literally that fast the offer went up to $3000. I am NOT a sue happy person and despise the concept but right is right and you are well within your rights to ask for it and receive it. Hopefully that value will push it over enough to be totaled and let you start from scratch.

Again, really glad to hear no one was hurt, Christmas miracle or whatever that is all that matters!

Dont matter how many estimates you get, the insurance company is gonna look at it an deside. An if you have allstate there prolly gonna wanna put all used parts on it. There a joke when it comes to that.

Excellent point on the dimished value issue. Not sure when and where this came from as I can't really say we heard much about this too often that many years ago. Maybe Carfax and NICB vehicle history reports, which are great for the buyer, but not so good for the seller, had something to do with it. Vehicle accidents suck! Thank God no one was injured in this case and everyone appears to be hoping this poor guy's truck is totalled so he "can go out and get a new one". Well, I hope he's in a position to do that, but there is a minor detail that no one seems to be thinking about and that is the difference of the cost of a new truck and what he will ultimately receive for his.

Glad everyone is ok! Your truck being so new the repair expenses will add up very quickly. I agree with most people here stating that if the frame is bent it will probably be a loss, which is best for you in that case. Just this past October I had wrecked my 07 HEMI, front end collision, but the pics really dont show the amount of damage.

One way I knew right away the frame was bent because my doors no longer open/closed properly. The ins. company said the visual damage was over $13k and that there is always the hidden damages once they start removing the broken pieces. It was the unknown hidden damages that helped the ins. company to total the truck. Sad thing was I almost had the HEMI paid off....and the other driver was a young 21 year old Hispanic with NO insurance! But the good was I got a steal of a deal on the purchase and the ins. company gave a cash value of $20,500. I actually got paid more than what I paid for the truck new before TT&L!

But they say things happen for a reason, and for that reason I am now a member of this forum and a happy owner of this.......

Thanks. I am really glad I got the dark blue. I originally wanted the red candy but the lot where I got the blue didn't have any. The salesman asked me how much more off the price to go "color blind", as he put it. So I ended up getting another $1000 off to take the blue truck.
