Default Christmas Eve F150 Wreck...

My 2009 F-150 XLT was loaded with family and Christmas presents & another car came bouncing down a steep grass embankment right onto the interstate...very little time for me to slow before we hit.

No big injuries. Driver of car had fortunately spun so that impact was to her rear passenger side (no passengers). Her car looks much worse actually.

3 impact areas to my truck (both areas the right side are from her car, and left side was retaining wall). Driver and passenger airbags deployed.

I have 2 quesitons:

1) Think this one is a total loss based on pics? Truck has 18k miles.

2) Recommendations on where to have it moved in Austin / RR area for estimates, etc?

Thanks everyone!

I noticed you said HER...sorry had to say that. Glad nobody's hurt. Now you will hopefully get a new 11 from her insurance company. Best of luck.
PS. kinda better if its a write off. If they had to fix that it would still never be the same.

That last pic makes it look like your front end was pushed back. If the engine has moved or the frame tweaked, they might total it out... Definitely get a couple different estimates on it.
It might just be time to upgrade to a 2011!

Definitely not a way to spend Christmas Eve but the best present was no injuries.....looks like a total but the insurance will determine that. I don't know if Service King is down in Austin, but they have always done a great job for me.

Definitely no offense meant by 'her' -- just how it happened.

Oh yeah -- Microsoft/Ford Sync automatically dialed 911 via my blackberry when the airbags deployed - one of those times where the technology worked.

No question in my mind that I'll keep driving an F150 (and feel good packing the kiddos inside).

Judging by the photos, I dont "think" they will total it out, glad to see that everyone is alright.. Christmas eve/ day are terrible times to drive, everyone is tired, hungover, or drunk, or in a hurry to get to somewhere, and tend to get careless..

That sucks. Glad everyone is ok. Based on the front end pics it does look like there could be frame damage and engine movement. But it may end up not being totalled. If it is 2011 F150 FTW!

Take it to numerous places. It may take more time but you submit the most expensive estimate and go from there.

How many and which air bags deployed? That will be a big factor in if it gets totaled or not. This last year when I picked up my 2009 the dealer had a 2008 in there were the insurance replaced the whole frame, frt end sheet metal and both frt doors and some box damage. Dealer said repairs were still less than a total out for the insurance. The owner did trade it after it was all fixed. I would get several shops to check it over including one being a dealer shop. Loads of hidden stuff behind the sheet metal.
