Exclamation Check Engine light. shift Code P0770. now what?

Just got back from a good 400 mile trip yesterday, so I figured I should wash my truck. After washing, I went to pull it into the garage, but upon start up, was greeted with a check engine light and wrench

I first re-started the truck only to have it do it again, so I grabbed my scanner tool and checked things out.

Heres what I got:
P0770 -powertrain
shift solenoid "E"

so now what? Ive never had any serious problems (aside from some rough 1-2nd shifts when the truck was cold which the dealer "could not replicate" (as always).
Anyone else have this? I wasn't able to find much on here about this problem.

I'm calling the ford dealer tomorrow and having a buddy tow me out there... with his Ram

I haven't heard of it before, but it should be an easy fix. It's good it didn't happen in the middle of that 400 mile run. Good luck

I would push it to the dealer before I would let a friend with a Ram tow me. That would be hard to live down.

Yeah i hope its nothing major. Only 27k on the truck so i cant imagine something being seriously wrong (i hope). Ive always had a problem with cold 1-2 shifts at low speed but for never wanted to give me the shifting tsb. I wonder if theyre related?

Hes loving it though. Were gonna go in this afternoon and he cant wait hahaha

I had to call four dealerships to find one that would look at my truck within the week. Most were a 3 week to 3 month wait for the transmission dept!!!

dealer said I should hear back later this week on a diagnosis for the trans. hate leaving my truck at the dealer so I hope this is fast!

I realized that I forgot to update this thread after the issue was resolved.

Before the code, I had been experiencing some heavy and/or late shifts, which were especially noticeable when the truck was cold and driving at parking lot speeds.
I noticed that there was a TSB related to this, but my dealer said they couldn't replicate the problem and so they never took action and performed it. It was really annoying that they refused to do it, especially since it was a simple software fix, but oh well.

then I threw the code and they had to deal with it.
Turns out, this code is related to that same problem, and was fixed via a software update to the latest shifting strategy.

Since ford performed the update, I have had no problems whatsoever with my transmission, and it shifts better than ever.

For reference, the applicable TSB's are as follows:

TSB:13-1-7
http://www.ford-trucks.com/tsbs/full...2&tsbno=13-1-7

TSB:13-1-10
http://www.ford-trucks.com/tsbs/full...&tsbno=13-1-10

hopefully this helps anyone that is experiencing the same issues and sorry for taking so long to update!

Default check engine light after software update

I had recall for this downshifting so i took 2013, f150, 5 L for software update.
That was done yesterday but this morning when I started my truck engine light came on.
Now I'm wandering if software had anything to do with this. Called dealership and got the answer that I axpected.
Just coincidence according to them.
Now I’ll have to scan it to see if this is just coincidence.
Just wandering if anybody had similar problem
