Default Check 4x4 in 4x4 low

Got snow today, put truck in 4 Low and message screen showed Check 4x4 warning. Is this normal? 4 low was working fine.

Why would you use 4Lo in snow? I would put in 4WD and start off in second gear. Less spinning. But, I can't answer your question because I haven't used 4WD yet. I know someone will answer it though.

You have to be in neutral or it won't shift.

4x4 Low is for pulling stumps and other trucks out of ditches. It shouldn't be used for snow as it will spin the wheels.

no, its not normal. I just put my truck in 4LO for the 1st time today (9600 miles) just to move the parts. I do 4HI once a week on a gravel road next to my house, but today I did 4LO, no warning light for me.

+1 - I have used 4 Low on several occasions with no "check 4X4" warning.

I had snow today....I would only used 4 Low when I was going under 10 mph. I left mine if 4-Hi and had no warning lights or any issues. By the way the Pirelli Scorpions did not let me now.

This is wrong, your wheels will be moving much slower due to the gear reduction.

Mud and sand 4hi

rock crawling 4 lo

Now I wouldn't use 4 lo in snow except for certain situations that require finnesse.

I use 4LO when I don't have to fast and don't want the converter slipping so much.
