Question Adding Reverse Sensors

I have an 09 XLT SCrew and one option I would like to add is the reverse sensing option. Does anyone have any experience with adding these aftermarket? Are there any systems that are possibly wireless and work just as well as factory?

I will tell you that there is an aftermarket system installed in my work van and it sucks, I dont' know what kind it is. I don't even think it works any more and I have learned to live with out. And its not that big of a deal to me anyway. I really see the bennift of them no having on in my new f150 but I managed for 30 years with out one so.

I do know from past experenices that sometimes trucks come prewired for options that are not installed. You would need to find out if you truck is wired for it. if it is I would imange that you would need to find all the parts that your missing and install them and then have your computer flashed.

Default Sensor or Camera

I have also been looking at installing the backup camera instead. Does anyone have any insight as to what this could cost or how extensive the install would be? What are my best options (ie LCD in mirror, external LCD)?

I have the backup camera and it is OK. It has night vision which I figured I needed. The problem is if there is a street light behind you or the garage light it leaves blind spots in the image. I mounted the camera on my rear bumper in the plastic on the side just before it bumps in to the plate. During the day it seems alright but if I had to do it over again I think I would take a pass. It feeds into my radio and it is an XO Vision camera. Camera cost about $30 to radio cost a lot more then that.
