I like how the LED bulb replacements look. Only thing I was worried about is I go snow boarding and have had to drive through snow storms where the entire back of my truck was coated with snow except the tail lights and that was because they emitted enough heat to keep them from being covered. So I'm wondering if I had LED's could I face the problem of the entire tail light getting covered making it so people from behind couldn't see me? I'll try to put up a pic of my truck after going through a storm.

This is the back of my black truck after driving through the storm. As you can see the only reason my tail lights are visible is because the snow was melted around them.

That's a good point. They started changing all the street lights around here to LED's, but they soon found that during snow storms the lights would get covered with snow because it wouldn't melt off.

Would the heat from the resistors help at all?

They look awesome if you're living in Texas. I had mine installed in Wisconsin, and after the first snow storm, I uninstalled them. The entire back of was covered in snow, and the lack of heat from the LED made it so no one could see my brake lights. Very unsafe for snowstorms.

Thanks I appreciate the info. I currently live in Southern California where I'm stationed but plan on doing lots of snow boarding trips and will be moving to Oregon once I'm out. Was driving in OR when I hit that storm. I think I'll just save a few bucks and leave them stock.
(BTW wasn't trying to steal the thread was just a concern)

They are red the white ones would produce more of a pinkish red since the wavelength of light is higher. As for the lights getting covered in snow I'm not too worried about, platinum Sean posted that he had no problems with his and he lives in canada. Most the time we don't go anywhere when a big storm comes, but thanks for the concern guys.

You'll have to let us know about how they do in a storm. I probably drive more during storms because of my work so maybe I just need to wire up a little heater inside of my taillights
