ya know it's funny.
when I was deciding what I wanted I "HAD TO HAVE" a split bench with the fold down seat. being I have a reg cab, I figured the extra seat would come in handy now and then.
once I bought my truck I realized the center seat is kinda cumbersome when folded down. plus its kind of a pain to get to the underseat storage, and there really isnt anywhere else to store stuff other than the glovebox.
I decided I wanted to swap it out for a center console.

then an emergency happened and I had to haul a third person in my truck while my wife and I were out. had that happened with a center console, I'da been s.o.l.
so now I guess I am looking for a center seat out of an XLT. the one that has the storage in the fold down part as well as the underseat storage.

if anyone has one of those they are looking to part with in gray, I am interested.

So what you're saying is I should hold on to my center seat after I put my console in.

I have a supercab though so I'm pretty sure I won't be hauling 5 other people around. Four maybe. Maybe. But probably not.

with an extended cab of some sort, in a pinch I am sure you could squeeze 4 people in the back seat. it wouldnt be very comfortable. but it would be doable. (or you could do like those guys in texas and put 23 people in an F250) so no I dont think you will need to keep yours around. and even if I had changed mine over and then had the emergency, I would not have been running home and swapping it back over, I would have just made arrangements to use another vehicle or something.
but by having it happen before I had ade the swap it told me that the swap wasnt such a good idea after all.

Wait... I may have missed something... do you have the center seat now or just the console? Did the emergency happen before or after the swap? I'm confused.

To the OP. Watch e-bay for a seller called "burnerofbooks". He puts a brown one up for sale about every 4 to 6 weeks. I bought one from him for $149, picked it up in person (he's in Dallas) and he had several to chose from. I too have a gray interior XLT and I used SEM paint on it. Do a search for "console swap" and there is a post with directions on how to paint it. Turned out great! Hardest part was drilling the holes in the floor bracket.

Here's the link to the most helpful. https://www.f150forum.com/f38/instal...-74727/index9/. Post #85 has the colors and a bit earlier are the directions.
