Default CB Antenna mount

I am trying to find a good way to mount a cb antenna to my 2012 super crew lariat. I currently put a K1000 on the roof (mistake). I ended up hitting every tree branch or low hanging whatever, and driving my wife and passengers nuts. They have come to like the CB on trips and traffic, but the clanging is a reminder of what they don't like, a giant antenna on which has become our family ride when I am not in the woods. Was looking to put on a firestik with either a spring base or a fixed base. I saw a spring base on a jeep and thought it looked good but wasn't sure if it would work for the truck. I have a tonneau cover on the back so it would be difficult to mount it to the bed. What about a mirror mount, though my mirrors are automatic and have the thick plastic unlike the F250 that would support a traditional mirror mount. What about mounting on the bed behind the back glass. I saw a mount that was on the hood, but that was more invasive on the potential for damage to the hood and a bit of a distraction. Anyone have any practical ideas?
Much appreciated.

I made my buddy a hitch mount. You can probably buy one online somewhere. I'm in the process of making a bed post mount that mounts under my tonneau cover and hangs just over the bedside.

Man I would love to see a picture of that if you could. I had mine mounted on my rear bumper but, when I bought my new one, I don't want to drill any holes in that one.

Essentially answered your same question 2.5 yrs ago in this thread with embedded link to my own install a year before: CB Radio/Antenna Install

My minimally invasive installation continues to serve me well, while being easily reversible without holes, other than one small antenna mount hole on RH rear bumper corner which can be capped with a plastic hole plug.

I just saw your post Triton... I'll ask him to send me a pic after work.

I've been making a lot of random things like that out of 80/20 extruded aluminum. Its similar to unistrut, but way more flexible IMO. They will even make custom machined parts if you have access to modeling software. For my hitch, I had them make a custom bracket similar to the front end of a ball mount. This is then attached to 80/20 extrusions, which is nice because it is removable and I can attach whatever I want to the hitch. I have plans for a bike rack, bed extender for my canoe, and storage rack. All using the same mount! I have plans for a homemade canoe trailer too, all framed from 80/20 and adjustable for any size canoe/kayak. I just need more free time...

Thanks DirtDawg, that is exactly what I had on my old bumper.
