Sorry to hear OP, that really sucks, especially at this time of the year. The posters above are right...trucks park way in the back. I've always made the walk into the store...people have zero respect for others property so I try to make it as hard possible for them to damage mine.

Sorry to hear of your unfortunate Walmart adventure...I too have been the victim of the Walmart parking lot.

Walmart usually has ok video that shoots out into the parking lot to a certain distance. Check into your local laws about hit and run with property damage and talk with your insurance for assistance.
Police generally focus on revenue-driven initiatives, as far as I've ever been able to tell.

I would suggest talking to the Walmart Management about surveillance footage. This could have been their own delivery truck. You may even want to get a lawyer involved for neglecting to provide assistance with what could be their responsibility on their property and their drivers negligence.

It's not just Wal-mart, I went to Best Buy once when I was in Charleston while I was in the Navy and when I came out my car was Totalled. Guy hit me at a 45 degree angle in the rear and pushed through 3 other cars before he finally stopped. And of course the @#$hole didn't have insurance, luckily it was my junker Eagle Summit and not my nice new ZX-9R that I bought a week before.

Good message from Griff.
I always park out a ways away from other vehicles and the loose shopping carts.
If my wife is with me, I drop her off at the door and then drive out and park.
Not the total answer but safer than parking up close.
All of the big store parking lots suck anymore. People drive through them like they are racing. Seems to be very common with young and old people.
I had to jump back to avoid a nun that was in a big hurry to get back to where ever.

Also if the parking spaces go through I always pull all the way through so that my hitch will be the first thing that they hit. I have seen at least 5 people hit my trucks by parking like that. So if I was in nose first my bumper would be screwed up. One time I had parked nose first and this little pos car had hit my truck and they didn't even have the decency to back up so I ripped the front license plate off their car and stuck it under the window wipers lol!!
